Putin Invites Indonesian Leader for Events in Russia

(MENAFN) Russian President Vladimir Putin has formally extended an invitation to his Indonesian counterpart, Prabowo Subianto, encouraging him to revisit Russia in May and July of this year to take part in two global gatherings set to be held in Kazan and Ekaterinburg, according to a report released Wednesday.

Indonesia’s Foreign Affairs Minister Sugiono, known mononymously, explained that the invitation was delivered during Prabowo’s official trip to Moscow on Monday, as reported by a news agency.

“President Putin also invited President Prabowo to attend an event scheduled for May in Kazan, as well as a major industry exhibition in July,” Sugiono stated in a video message issued by the Presidential Secretariat in Jakarta.

The report indicated that the events in question are likely the International Economic Forum “Russia - Islamic World: Kazan Forum,” which is set to occur alongside the Kazan Expo in Kazan City, Tatarstan from May 12 to 17, and the International Innovation Industry Expo 2026 in Ekaterinburg, Sverdlovsk from July 6 to 9.

As per the Kremlin, both leaders highlighted several priority sectors for collaboration during their discussions in the Russian capital, including energy, agriculture, and industrial development, while also underscoring the significance of cooperation in cultural and educational fields.
